I'm accepting preregistration for the Magic: The Gathering Ravnica block sealed event "Guild Wars", to be held at Backstage Hobbies & Games in Ludington, MI on April 26th!
Registrations are being accepted online at the soon-to-be regular forum at Game Face Live- Click Here to access the thread and register! We'll also be accepting registration in-store beginning this Thursday when we open again! Preference for enrollment in a particular guild will be given to those who preregister and pay in advance of the event; Accommodations for those who register on the day of the event will be made based on the number of registrants in guilds to that point. ![]() |

wait, so we are meant to decide what guild we want before we build our decks? That takes all strategy and effort out of deck construction and makes it an even greater "luck" based format. if I choose Dimir and open Glare and Hierarch, I would be mad that I wouldn't be able to play with them based on a choice I made beforehand. Isn't there anyway that you can just choose what set you want and then pick a guild AFTER you build your deck. Also what about splash's? I love to do the whole add 2x swamps so I can play my terror.
Just to let you know, I will be in town that weekend and I could sanction it as Limited(8 people) and 2HG limited (4teams) if you want so I can put in the 2 weeks notice. Ya, my old avy was slowing the boards down... |

Yes/no.
I'm still undecided on how exactly the guild breakdowns are going to work, but popular choice is to pick guild as opposed to set. For the prereg, I'm requesting Guild so that I can see how the "party lines" fall, so to speak. Depending on that, I will make the ultimate call as to whether you're bound to the chosen guild or not. If we have 20 people all wanting one guild, we'll likely go for what you pull. If the distribution is more even, we'll allow choice, with the added requirement that any non-guild rares are turned into the desk and distributed in a fair manner to appropriate players. If we have a couple guilds that are weighed a bit heavily, thats where prereg preference comes in and the late-comers will be shifted somewhere else appropriately (IE A player with a Gruul request at registration might be shifted to Boros if Gruul is disproportionately high as opposed to Boros). Just as it stands, we have a lot of "I want to", but no guaranteed "I will, here's my money". So, I'm trying to create some incentive for that. ![]() |
